I love a good Spa Day! I can’t think why any women wouldn’t. A chance to get away from the daily grind – no cooking, no cleaning, no breaking up fights or wiping cheeky little bums. A day, or even a few hours to just…relax!
Spas, like women, come in all shapes and sizes, and my favourite so far is Aqua Sana in Longleat Forest. Although it’s on the grounds of Centre Parcs, you don’t need to be visiting Centre Parcs to come here – you can book this on the Aqua Sana website online. Aqua Sana is a big spa with about 15 different spa experiences ranging from Turkish and Greek Spas to Indian Blossom Steam Rooms and Meditating Rooms. It also has break-out areas where you can lie and read, sleep, or just be.
My favourite part of Aqua Sauna is the huge outdoor jacuzzi, which is more a cross between a swimming pool and a jacuzzi. Even on cold winter nights it is a pleasurable experience! I always begin my day with a few minutes in the jacuzzi, and this time armed with what felt like a fish between my legs. It swallowed water and blew out bubbles. All well and good while the jacuzzi is bubbling, but a little embarrassing when you’re the sole reason the jacuzzi has bubbles! I wasn’t sure whether to be relieved by the fact that the bubbles were forming in front of me and not behind. I really hate being in water with a tampon on!
The steam-rooms are great too, and always seem to have something to laugh about. Like the time we were in the Japanese Salt Steam Bath, which you can imagine is rather steamy. It takes a few seconds for your eyes to settle and allow you to make out the silhouettes to then see if there are any free spaces. We found a couple of spaces and sat down to enjoy the experience. A few other people came in and just stood a few seconds before realising it was full and leaving. The 3rd time it happened, a lady sitting near the door asked very annoyed, ‘Are these people blind? Can they not see that it’s full?’ Her daughter politely answered, ‘They can’t see through the steam mom.’ I burst out laughing! You could barely see two people away – maybe she had bionic vision.
Then there was the time in the Indian Blossom Steam Room where a young lady sat next to her boyfriend and ran her hand down his thigh in an innocent attempt to scoop off some sweat. Only, it wasn’t her boyfriend as we learned when she shrieked, ‘You aren’t my Matt!’ Oops. A fit of laughter burst through the place.
You see all sorts, shapes and sizes of people here. Younger people, older ones, skinny people, fatter ones. I always admire people that are confident enough to bare themselves – in swimming costume of course – even if some of them are smaller than the loin cloths worn by Bushmen – and I don’t normally comment on people’s body shapes. However, being the bum-spotter that I am, I couldn’t help but notice that all the ladies in there, but one, seemed to have lost their butts somewhere – perhaps that one lady had been picking them all up for herself. I saw flat butts and flatter butts, and some very saggy butts too! I had never seen saggy butts like this before – I thought that was something unique to brea
This is by no means an insult to anyone’s butt, it was a mere observation. And might I add that the bum is a muscle, and like other muscles it can be worked on. You won’t end up with Kim Kardashian or Nicky Minaj butts – those are not their butts really – but you can improve your own butt. Check out this video to take some steps to a firmer butt.
In conclusion, if you’re in need of some time out, a Spa day, or some spa treatments are an awesome way to do that. Spas are also nice places to go with a group of friends. It doesn’t have to cost the earth either as you can find great deals on Groupon, or even sign up to the Spa’s newsletter and lookout for offers.
